ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR VERMONT
by Peter Moss
To Governor Jim Douglas:
Perhaps you remember me. At a Republican meeting last year, I asked for
your advice in running against Patrick Leahy. You recommended fast running
shoes. I believe I can do better than that. But first, some suggestions
that may help Vermont. Media accounts say you are interested in economic
development and job growth. My first suggestion is to create an accelerated
transition to hydrogen from fossil fuels and nukes. People who have the
mechanical skills to build the Fairbanks scales in St. Johnsbury could
certainly build kits to convert automobiles and trucks to dual fuel: hydrogen/gasoline.
BMW has such cars on the road and has the technology and nobody in the
world is doing conversion kits now. Details are in my enclosed essay:
EOLECTRICITY = ECONOMY + EMPLOYMENT + ENVIRONMENT. A second unique business
opportunity is to grow tourism by attracting civil union tourism. For
details I enclose: CIVIL UNIONS, NOT JUST CHURCH BELLS. Lastly, globalization
is a nice name for exporting high wage jobs to low wage countries. If
elected, I will introduce legislation to impose a tax to make imports
of goods made by globalization 20% less profitable than U.S. made goods,
as explained in my enclosed FULL EMPLOYMENT ACT, NOT LAYOFFS. If you think
my suggestions have merit, please support my candidacy with the Vermont
GOP elders. Patrick Leahy is not going to introduce my kind of public
interest legislation until long after hell has frozen over. Vermont and
you and I can't wait that long.
