AIRPORT SECURITY SHOULD BE FEDERALIZED
by Peter Moss

Dear Senator McCain:
I hope you will use your media access to tell the American people that U.S. aviation is not safe, and to postpone all air travel until after the luggage inspectors and related staff become side arm wearing federal agents. Ask the people to drive or take the train or bus, or better yet, stay home until air security is federalized. The airlines' cost saving for profit is an incurable conflict of interest, precluding security at reasonably necessary cost. It appears that the House opponents of federalization took kickbacks from the security contractors anxious to salvage their business. My proposal will enable the people to be heard in self-defense. I propose that the National Guard and the U.S. Marshals, FBI, CIA, NSA, Secret Service, and other federal law enforcement agencies delegate sufficient staff until 30,000 new agents can be investigated and trained for the Secret Service to take rotational gigs as airport security. Eventually, all Secret Service agents should do rotational gigs as airport security, and should also rotate to protect the President. This way every flying American will have the same dedicated quality of protection as the President.
